On February 17th and 18th 2014, API together with CAE Validus organized the fourth training module on person-centered planning within the framework of the European project “New Path to Inclusion Network“. Representatives from NGO’s, residential institutions and several people with intellectual disabilities with their assistants participated in the training.
In the fourth module, the participants were introduced to person centred reviews and review meetings. Person centered thinking tools, used in the development of personalized services in the UK were discussed. The participants learned how person-centred review meetings are used to plan the on-going support for the person. They were familiarized with facilitating a review meeting, learned about differences between person-centered review and person-centered planning. They also had an opportunity to be involved in a demonstration of a person-centered review. In addition, they practiced two person centered reviews as an exercise in two groups and shared their experiences with everyone.
The training was led by Julie Lunt – trainer in the project “New Path to Inclusion Network” from Great Britain with the facilitation and support from Bojana Rozman and Slavenka Martinovic.
