First module of the “New Path to Inclusion Network” training

On 11th and 12th of Sep 2013, in cooperation with the Association for Promoting Inclusion (API), CAE Validus participated in the organization of the first of five modules of training on person-centered planning in the framework of the European project “New Path to Inclusion Network“. Within this project, in addition to Croatia, the training is implemented in five EU countries. The main objective of the project is to achieve a change in services for people with disabilities.

The representatives from several NGO’s, the Ministry of Social Policy and Youth, residential institutions, the Centres for Social Welfare as well as the people with intellectual disabilities with their assistants participated in the training.

In the first module, the participants were introduced to the values ​​and the process of person centered support as a key approach for achieving personal goals and real involvement in community life. The participants had also the opportunity to get to know each other through various exercises of creative thinking and graphic facilitation in small groups and in partnership work.
