On 11th and 12th December 2014, COO Validus carried out the last workshop in a series of professional training workshops on “Person-centered planning – creating a better future for persons with intellectual disabilities”. The participants were, as in previous modules and workshops, representatives of the Centre for the Rehabilitation Zagreb, Centre for Rehabilitation Rijeka, Centre for Rehabilitation Ozalj, Centre for Inclusive Support Slavonski Brod, Home for Mentally Ill Adults Osijek and professional staff of the Association for Promoting Inclusion and CAE Validus. This workshop marked the completion of the professional training which was conducted in two four-day modules and four workshops in the period from May to mid-December. The training was implemented in cooperation with experts from the US-based organization Neighbours Inc. and associate trainers from Validus.
During this workshop the participants presented their PATHs and shared their experiences, questions and concerns they faced. All participants have shown great interest and motivation for the subject and complited all required activities successfully, both in group and indidividual work. Finally, they have successfully gained an understanding of Person Centered Planning and graphic facilitation using the MAP and PATH planning tools and became facilitators of the whole process.
Upon completion of the training, the participants received certificates of attendance and presents as well as established the future cooperation and support in implementing new skills.
