From March 9-15, 2015, three of our lectures were guests at the NGO Hand in Hand in the capital city Tbilisi, Georgia where they held the “Initial Training in community-based supported housing service provision“ for future assistants in organized housing.
NGO Hand in Hand develops and promotes the organized housing service and other community services for adults with disabilities since its establishment in 2010. Their mission is to create worthy living conditions for people with disabilities and support their integration into society.
The aim of training was to introduce the participants with the philosophy of inclusion, the rights of persons with intellectual disabilities to live in the community, person-centred approach and planning, active support, and other relevant topics related to the development of Organized Housing Service. Based on the obtained knowledge, the organization is starting to build its professional capacities in order to expand organized housing services. The participants showed great interest in the topic and share their thoughts in the creative atmosphere. Upon completion the participants received the certificates of attendance.
