Training on Person-centred Planing

During April 7-10, 2015, CAE Validus started the new cycle of professional training on “Person-Centered Planning – Creating a Better Future for People with Disabilities”.

A number of experts joined this year’s training attempting to gain skills necessary for empowering people with disabilities to live in the community.

Representatives from the Centre for Rehabilitation Zagreb, Centre for Rehabilitation Rijeka, Home for Mentally Ill Adults Turnić, Centre for Inclusion and Support in the Community Pula, Centre for Inclusion and Social Services Bjelovar, Association for Autism – Zagreb and the Association for Promoting Inclusion participated in the first module (four-day) training.

The first module familiarized the participants with the facilitation process of person-centered planning using MAP’s planning tool.

Expert trainers involved in the training were:

  • Patti Scott and David Hasbury, experts from US-based organization Neighbours Inc. and
  • Bojana Rozman, Ph.D., with more than 10 years of experience working with organizations on developing a person centered approach to service and care.

The training will be carried out in two modules and four workshops. Upon completion of training the participants will gain skills for graphic facilitation and as well for facilitation process of person-centered planning using MAP’s and PATH planning tools.
