On September 21-22, 2015, COO Validus carried out the last workshop in the professional training on “Person-centered planning – creating a better future for persons with intellectual disabilities”. The participants were, as in previous modules and workshops, representatives of the Centre for Rehabilitation Rijeka, Home for Mentally Ill Adults Turnić, Centre for Rehabilitation Zagreb, Centre for Inclusion and Support in the Community Pula, Centre for Inclusion and Social Services Bjelovar, Association for Autism – Zagreb and Association for Promoting Inclusion. This workshop marked the completion of the professional training which was conducted in the period from April to mid-September. The training was implemented in cooperation with experts from the US-based organization Neighbours Inc. and associate trainers from Validus.

During this workshop the participants presented their PATHs and shared their experiences, questions and concerns they faced. All participants have shown great interest and motivation during the individual and group activities and successfully gained an understanding of Person Centered Planning and graphic facilitation using the MAP and PATH planning tools.

Upon completion of the training, the participants received certificates of attendance and presents as well as established the future cooperation and support in implementing new skills.

We would like to congratulate all the participants on their successful completion of this professional training and we wish them a lot of success in their work as facilitators in person-centered planning, creating positive change in the lives of people with disabilities.
