Julie Beadle-Brown, PhD

Chartered Psychologist at the Tizard Centre, University of Kent and Professor in Disability Studies at La Trobe University in Victoria, Australia with 25 years of experience working with persons with autism. Her teaching, research and consultancy focus primarily on improving the experiences of people with intellectual disabilities and autism with a specific interest in service design and the implementation of person-centred approaches that promote positive outcomes for people with intellectual disabilities and autism. Over the past 10 years she has worked with over 20 organisations in UK, Ireland, Australia, Norway, Croatia and Romania to support the implementation of person-centred active support. She is co-author of a number of training resources and books on active support and on understanding and supporting people with autism.
